Spring....

 Hi everyone!
Here in the High Desert Spring is really starting to show. Our Joshua Trees are starting to bloom and soon all the desert will be covered in beautiful yellow and purple wild flowers.  Of course the cactus will begin to bloom with it's vivid colors, along with all of us around here who suffer from allergies.
I had wanted to bring some of that easy carefree feel to my Mother In Law who is just to sweet for words! So I made this Lantern from Crisp Days of fall Kit from SVG cuts and turned it into a spring lantern will butterflies from the Breezy Meadow butterflies set.
I used the shapes menu from the  Sure Cuts  a Lot program and got swirls from there then just played with them moving them around till I found a combo I liked.   Leo has great instructions on the blog about how to weld in the plain lantern.
I had some difficulty with the butterflies cutting, as the Cricut just doesn't seem able to do very much intricate work. which really frustrated me but that is a whole other story. I glittered the butterflies I made with Art Glitter that is ultra fine. The color is crystal, a very versatile glitter and almost always looks great on whatever you put it on.I cut the bottom of the butterfly out of vellum I colored with ink. I use card stock vellum from Stampin up it cuts great and I just love it. Now if your lucky  to have a sizzix eclips you can color it with your machine or so I hear... anyway check it out on the Facebook page for SVG cuts.. Have a great day and Happy Craftin'. I am off to learn all about Key's Ranch today here in Joshua Tree National Park.. and to have a lovely picnic with my Honey! Blessings to you all, Sharalyn

Thinking about Summer...

Hey Y'all!

With the warm and cold days I am thinking a lot about summer The warm days and cool evenings and my son's b day is coming soon so I made this for him. I used two kits from svgcuts.com which I love.
Their designs are amazing. I use Sure Cuts a lot to change the design a bit, but you can also use Make the cut with their cuts and they come out just as amazing. I love that I can change things up a bit to make them my own.. so I hope you had a great day either crafting or enjoying a the day. I will post a link to the site and the kits I used so you can take a look for yourself. I used Chamomile friends and cards and Crisp days of fall both are great files.. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Craftin' Blessings,  Sharalyn

Played a bit today...

Good afternoon everyone! Hope your day was peaceful and you did something that made you happy. I played a bit with a new kit I got from Simon Says Stamp the monthly kit came today along with a couple of goodies I ordered from them. This was my first kit from them and I have to say I was impressed.. Great quality stuff and new stuff from the most recent CHA, was among the stuff in the kit. Great price too. The Flower cut out was one of the things I ordered from them. I am new to using them but sure do love them. This one is from Memory Box and it is called Wild Blooms.
I so have to have more of these the are beautiful and a lot of fun to add to your goodies to play with. The die cut and the two pearls were extras and not included in the kit but really you need to take a look at these I even got a tiny charms sucker in my kit to eat while playing which I thought was a really nice touch. So here is the card I made from some of the stuff hope you like it is a card for my friend for her Birthday in March.. <3

Sharing Creations

Today is my first day of my Blog. I wanted to have  somewhere I could share some of the amazing things I have made and been inspired to make. So here are a few of the things I have made recently. If your inspired to make one of your own please do. All my life growing up I heard from my mom I can do that... Well, I can do that too and so can you.
